Engagement Party

My friend just got engaged and her mom is throwing her an engagement party. She was asking me if she should register or just want until a few months before the wedding to actually register.

I dont know what to tell her since everyone i've know who got married only have the bridal shower and that was what they registered for a few months before the wedding.

We didn't register for our engagement party which was 10 months before our wedding. We actually didn't expect gifts at all, although we got some nice champagne and wine bottles, as well some frames.

We registered 2.5 months before our wedding.

we didn't register for the e-party since the wedding was over 2 years away but lots of people do. We had a lot of guests ask where we were registered, too but in the end it was best to get cash for us since we were just starting out. We knew we were moving into a new place before the wedding and would register for all the good stuff then.

I am having my party in two weeks and everyone keeps asking if I am registered. I am not registering, mainly bc I live in an apartment and have nowhere to put the stuff. Whatever gifts I do get, will stay at my moms.

My sis didn't register before her e-party because the wedding was 2 years away as well. My e-party is in August and I am not going to register. I feel that if I do there won't be much left on the registry for the shower before the wedding. We are inviting alot of people to the e-party so well be happy with whatever we get.

We had our engagement party almost a month ago. We choose to register and are so glad we did. People are going to get you gifts regardless, why not get what you want...I would suggust it only if you have a place to store everything...luckily my parents have a huge basement so we just borrowed a corner for the next year and a half.... :)
