Engagement Party

Engagement Party

Hey girls,
We're looking to have an engagement party, it's already getting too cold to do it outside so we're looking at restaurants or private rooms. But so far I have been getting rediculous quotes for an afternoon lunch. Does anyone know a place that is nice but won't break the bank at the same time.

Thanks

Here's a tip...DO NOT tell any restaurant it's an engagement party. Anything wedding related is mch more expensive. Just say it's a family get together. like a reunion..no need for them to know anything else.

check out Caffe on the Green in Bayside, Queens...i had my engagement party there. They don't change their prices based on what type of event you have, but rather their prices vary based on the type of package you get and the month you're looking at.

I'm booking a brunch e-party at the Carriage House in Babylon. They have a nice brunch menu and its inexpensive.

I LIVE IN SUFFOLK BUT FH LIVES IN NASSAU SO ANYWHERE IS REALLY FINE. I JUST THINK ITS SO CRAZY TO SPEND UPWARDS OF 40 PP WHEN ITS SOO MUCH TO HAVE A WEDDING...I WISH I DIDN'T SAY IT WAS AN ENGAGEMENT PARTY WHEN I CALL SOME PLACES ..SO RIGHT THEY BUMP PRICES UP AS SOON AS YOU SAY WEDDING.

I love Domenico's. I grew up in Levittown and we used to eat there all the time. Great food!

i know its sooo yummy! to the OP: i am def paying less than $40 pp. They have different menus you can choose from @ Domenicos. I think the most basic menu was like, $28 or $29 pp.

Other places you can try that are good and have private rooms:

La Piazza, in Merrick

H.R. Singletons in Bethpage

Good luck!

If you have any family members that are members of a Fire Dept. you may be able to get their multi-function room for free or very cheap. We had ours at FH's uncle's FD and it was beautiful! It was a big, open room (white walls) with a hardwood dance floor. We set up round tables and chairs for guests and long, rectangular tables for buffet-style food. With table covers, centerpieces and music, you have yourself an instant party for little to nothing!
