Re: Engagement Party
$$$$$$$$$$
Everything is to your own discretion... We gave all our friends $350 for their engagement regardless where they had it. When it was our turn, we received it back.

Re: Engagement Party
One of the nicest gifts FH and I got, if you wanted to buy a gift was Lenox wine glasses, and a 3 month membership to a wine club we get 2 bottles a month. It was so nice, and different. We just got our first delivery and the wine was soooo good!!

Re: Engagement Party
Cash gifts for eparties... Depending on how close you are to the couple, give based on that. At Shawn's cousins eparty we could only afford at the time to give $150, money was tight and we just couldnt do more, so for their wedding we bought them a surround sound system for their apartment (MAJOR money for that...) and I just recently gave them their kitchen aid mixer. They also had the eparty in a hibernian hall and their parents cooked the food for everyone, no dj, no cp's, so their cost was very low for the party...

Re: Engagement Party
i dont know if you need to give that much, but i dont think you should let the place dictate how much you're giving someone..
and if you want to do a registry search im pretty sure you can go to the knot and they have a search that will look for everywhere a couple is registered

Re: Engagement Party
I would give $100-150. Most of our friends gave us in that range for our e-party. If you want to buy a gift too, maybe a nice picture frame, photo album, coasters, etc. Something small, more like a gesture to go along with the cash.
For instance, one of my BM's gave us $100 and a Lenox double picture frame off of my registry.

Re: Engagement Party
i like the idea of cash and a gift.. if they're not registered anywhere i would just be sure to give them a gift receipt- and i think around 150 is a good amount if you're also giving a gift

Re: Engagement Party
I agree with giving money... i know personally FH and I did not want registry gifts for our e party because we would have no where to put them as of right now so we have not registered yet. I would say at least $100 would be good.
