Engagement Party

So when FH and I first got engaged I was totally against having an engagement party. BUT now I really want one. We will be engaged a year in June and are getting married October 2010, do you think its too late now to have a party?

No its not too late, I got engaged last march and my FMIL is throwing us one this summer.

i totally think you can have one...I think it's like rule of thumb to try to have it before the year you are married.

no it's not too late...

we got engaged in August 2008 and are getting married july 24, 2010... out engagement party is july 2009...

We decided that a year ahead of the wedding was perfect...

we can hand out save the dates...

when people ask about our wedding plans/ honeymoon plans we will have an answer...

we registered (for the e-party) and hope to get a few of the items off of the list and since our e-party is not too far in advanced hopefully the items won't be discontinued for the wedding so we don't have to re-register

I don't think so, we got engaged Oct 08 and had our engagement party March 09

nope!!! I got engaged last november and we are havin ours end of May cause we wanted nice weather.. you have the same wedding date as me, I think its perfectly fine!:)

I agree with everyone else, I dont think its too late, you can just say you wanted to wait until the wedding was a year away.

My fiance wants to have an engagement party end of this summer.. We got engaged in may and only planning on getting married april 2011.. Is this too soon to have a party??!
