just wondering - are the brides and grooms paying for the e-parties or are the families paying for it?
i am not having a formal eparty and i was just curious to see what the brides have to say...
if the families are paying for it, would you have still had an eparty if you had to pay for it yourselves?
thoughts?

Re: Engagement pArty
i did something different for my eparty... i just invited all my friends to a lounge/bar and had a gathering that way... i thought it was a great way to celebrate!
if you are more family orientated, i can see why holding it at a huge venue would be appropriate.

Re: Engagement pArty
FH's parents are hosting/paying it. I didn't really care to have one but it was important to them and im always up for an open bar
Ours is formal - just kinda worked out that way. It was actually cheaper at Westbury Manor then the other places they looked (restaurants).
But now that its like a week away - i am super excited about it. A lot of planning and coordination has gone into it and we have a ton of out of town people making the trip, so it should be great!

Re: Engagement pArty
My MOH's (2 sisters) and FSIL (BM)hosted it at my FSIL's lounge in the Avalon. They ordered catered food and bought some alchohol. FH and bought more alcohol JIC but people ALSO brought alchohol so there was plenty of boozin going on.
I dont think FH and I would've had one if my MOH's and BM didn't throw one. We probably would've just had everybody celebrate w/ us at a bar in the city instead.

Re: Engagement pArty
We were planning on paying for our own, but FILs offered to foot the bill for the hall rental and liquor since their backyard wouldn't fit everyone. Totally wasn't expecting that, but we're super excited...now we can put the money for the tent and chair rentals towards deposits for wedding vendors. All we have to pay for is food.

Re: Engagement pArty
We had our engagement party last night at Dao in Huntington. Both sets of parents paid for it and split the cost. We gave them a nice gift afterwards to thank them for their work and financial contribution!

How was it??? I was waiting for a post about it
Oh and to answer the question, we are just having a backyard BBQ with fam and friends, no DJ or anything. Mom and Dad are paying for it and I love them since they are already paying for soooo much!

We held our E-Party at the Milleridge Inn and my parents paid for the party. It was a nice intimate dinner of 50 people.

My parents threw us a party at a local Italian restaurant. They gave FH and I the option of a party, or more $ towards the wedding. I picked the party, lol. They rented the whole place and hired a piano player, it was lovely.

Either way we are having an eparty. As of right now FH and I are the only ones paying for it. We will probably have a backyard party with closest family and friends. No more than 75 people that way its affordable.

Re: Engagement pArty
FH and I paid for about 3/4 of it and the rest was paid for by both my parents and FH's parents in a bunch of different ways (portion of the hall, favors, lollipops, cake etc) we went with the big catering hall type of party
