When is a good time to have your engagement party? I don't want to do it too soon, but I'm not getting married for a while so I didn't want to wait too long either...thoughts?

My e-party is next saturday which will be 4 months after our engagement, and we're having a slightly over 2 year engagement.

I waited 5 months after getting engaged to have our eparty. There really isn't a set time its when you prefer. Some people do it after 3 months some a year in

FHs parents wanted it right away...which, when our eparty comes up, will be 5 months from when we got engaged. My mom said why not wait till next summer, which would've been fine too....
It's up to you guys If you're excited then do it now! Plus the $$ will help when you go to book vendors

We got engaged in December and are getting married in a year and a half and our party is next weekend!
So exciting!!! I wanted to do it this summer because we have awhile to go before our wedding which is in the winter so I thought it would be fun to have a summer activity!

We had ours July 17th and we got engaged May 1st and our wedding isn't until May 2012...
you can really do it whenever you want but i'm sure you're soooo excited about being engaged! so doing it within the next few months is good.
the engagement party was so fun and exciting! i was so excited and so busy trying to talk to every1 that i barely ate anything though! i wonder if that's what the wedding will be like. lol

We were thinking of doing it in December, figure that's a decent amount of time between the engagement and the wedding. I like the idea of using some of that money towards the vendors...thanks and have fun at your parties!
