Engagement Party

Hi All!

So we just got engaged and think we want an engagement party but do not want to spend a lot of money. It would save us money if we could wait until it's warm out and have it at FH's home, so that would be about 5-6 months after our engagement. Is that weird?

Engagement Party

I had my engagement party 4 months after being engaged so I don't think it's weird at all.

Engagement Party

Ours was 6 months later for the same reason-we wanted to wait for warmer weather and it also gave time to plan and save since we threw it ourselves. We got engaged end of December and our e-party was early/mid July.

Engagement Party

Mine was 3 months after we got engaged. But a close friend of mine had hers a full year after she got engaged cuz she wanted it around the holidays like when she got engaged. I think anywhere from a few months to a year is acceptable! It's your day! Enjoy!

Engagement Party

Definitely not weird at all! Especially since you're getting married in 2016 you definitely have some time! We had ours July 4th weekend after getting engaged in April (Easter Sunday) but thats only because we always have our annual family BBQ that time every year so we did it to save money.

Engagement Party

I don't think it's weird! I've been to two engagement parties so far that have happened a year after the couples got engaged. I am still on the fence about having an engagement party lol. My fiance and I got engaged the end of August, so if we had one it would also probably be close to a year after our engagement since we would want to have a BBQ type thing.

Engagement Party

Not weird at all. If we were going to have one, it would have been about 6-7 months after for that reason as well.

Engagement Party

I got engaged in July and my parents are now talking about having an engagement party for us in the spring so I don't think it should matter too much when you have it

Engagement Party

That is totally fine...we got engaged in September and we are holding off until around June to have an engagement party so the weather is warm. Also, we are getting married June 2016 so it will be a year away from the wedding.

Engagement Party

I don't think it's weird at all! My mom wants to arrange an engagement party for us, but she won't be able to do so until after the holidays. It will most likely end up happening around four months from our engagement date!
