So, our eparty is fast approaching and I was just wondering if we need to do any activities? I'm not really into shower games, but do we need something to fill some time? Basically, we are having about 100 people for a 4-hour lunch/drinks in an italian rest!! Close family and friends, so it will give people time to mingle and get to know each other. There is no dancing/DJ, just background music (which I got some slack about). But, then I was thinking about typical showers and it's the presents that fill a big chunk of the time...
So, what do you ladies think? Do we need some activites? If so, got any ideas? I was thinking we could do the how well do you know each other games maybe?

We also had ours in an Italian restaurant but we didn't play any games. I doubt anyone missed them!

Everyone will be so excited I don't think you actually need to do anything extra.
The only thing 'extra' I had at my e-party was a scrapbook I made with pictures of the 5+ years we were together and everyone spent a great deal of time talking about it. Very big hit.

I personally don't think that games would be necessary. Everyone will be busy eating and talking to each other. Music in the background is fine. Ours went by sooo fast, we didn't have time to even think of playing games and everyone had a great time.

I would not do games. I think everyone will be fine with just socializing together.

Re: engagement party activities?
I think games are reserved for showers.
I don't think you need them at an engagement party.
Also... with food and drinks and talking and getting to know eachother... those 4 hours that seem like a long time to you now... will just FLY by!!
we had an engagement party... but that was more like a mini wedding... with a CH then the 4 hour party with a DJ. So games were def out of the equasion for us. But even still at an Italian restaurant.. I don't think it's necessary. Once people start drinking they will start talking and the time will go by so fast!!!!!

Re: engagement party activities?
I don't think games are necessary at an engagement party. That's more for the B-shower and B-party. I feel engagements parties are more for a time for the two families to meet, talk and get to know one another.

I'm not even a fan of the games at the showers. I don't think you need them. Besides, it'll be like a mini reunion for everyone so they'll be busy.

My party is on the 26th and we are not doing any games. Like all the ladies mentioned b/f me, between food, drink and music, your party is going to fly by. I think that there really is no need for the games.
