my really good/best friend lives more than 5 hours away- she just got engaged too-yay! But she's having an engagement party- oh with our budget being so tight right now, we can either attend or send a gift. I am sure she won't mind about a gift and would rather us come, but I feel bad. I did not have an engagement party- and am not having bms.. she asked me to be one for her. Oh and this party is probably going to be days before my first day back to school after an already hectic summer (I actually can't wait until it's over!) What should I do?

just send her a gift and let her know why, once u tell her she will prob tell you to come anyway and dont worry about a gift, but just tell her you wouldnt feel right coming empty handed.
