Engagement Party Decor? - Long Island Weddings

I got a lot of things from Etsy like Pilsner glasses and a small cake topper shaped like a palm tree…there are pics in my album. We had a Hawaiian themed party since that was where we got engaged. I made a collage of pictures of us from the beginning, table names/numbers out of all the Islands and things we did while we were there and made a big Save the Date sign that we put on the wall that I got a lot of compliments on - it also let people know wayyyy in advanced when the wedding was, so I wasn't in such a rush to send out my save the dates. We also got a lot of stuff from Oriental Trading and Party City - they have great sales!

Engagement Party Decor? - Long Island Weddings

I love the decor that says 'she said yes!' its soo cute. But also since you know the wedding date you can display that for some great photo opps. We had already done E-pics by ours so we had them in frames on a table for everyone to see. We had a Love is Sweet theme, with bright colors and a big candy bar, personalized cookies for a favor, and a cupcake tower!

Engagement Party Decor? - Long Island Weddings

We did a clambake so I had a lot of blue and white stuff. This isn't really decor but people loved that I bought glasses from the dollar store (wine & beer) and they were able to draw on their glass with glass sharpies. Their name won't last forever because I believe you have to bake it in order for it to stay but most people glass stayed for the entire party. Plus they were able to take the glass with them. Some pics in my album.

Engagement Party Decor? - Long Island Weddings

I did some DIY stuff for our party including a sign that had our dates on it - first date, engagement date, and wedding date, which kind of announced the wedding date to everyone. I also put pictures of us in coordinating frames. We had a florist do the centerpieces, but I bought fake diamond confetti from Party City and sprinkled them on the tables and it looked so beautiful!

Engagement Party Decor? - Long Island Weddings

I made 'meet the maid' and 'meet the men' frames for our bridal party. Everyone LOVED them. I also ordered personalized signs from Etsy. One is for sale in my Album 'She Said Yes' I also did the pom poms hanging from the ceiling and candle centerpieces. Cake pops are our favors. HTH

Engagement Party Decor? - Long Island Weddings

We had white balloons over each table with family pictures and pictures of us through out our relationship. Under the picture I attached a paper that gave a year and who is in the picture (ex: Grandma/Uncle Bob/Cousin's Birthday '95) Everyone was wandering around from table to table to find themselves and to laugh at all the old pictures.

It got the two families talking too, which was awesome.

We did a backyard BBQ so we didn't really have centerpieces or anything. We did have a 'meet the maids/meet the men' table set up and people really liked it.

Re: Engagement Party Decor?

I'm planning mine now! My FH's family is hosting and wants to have a BBQ so im dressing it up a little and gave it the theme of a rustic BBQ. The food is your typical BBQ foods and then I added Baked mac and cheese and pulled pork sliders that were my favorites.

For the drinks we bought 4 large Mason jar drink despencers that will stand on galvanived tubs and old wooden crates. I'm going to make a sweet tea, sangria, lemon water and a mixed drink in them. I bought cases of pint sized mason jars and paper striped straws for each person to fill-up with what ever drink they want. I decorated the jars with lace and twine and put a small piece of glittered paper on it for people to sign their name so they dont lose their glass. This is the favor as well.

The tables are being decorated with centerpieces. We are going to have a burlap runner and a thinnly sliced wood stump in the middle. On top will be a mason jar flower arrangement with sunflowers, daisys, and red roses.

For dessert we are making apple crisp, strawberry shortcake that will be in small jam jars.

Engagement Party Decor? - Long Island Weddings

We did mason jars with sunflowers and baby's breath and a small blue flower in them with raffia around the mouth of the jar (I did all that myself) for centerpieces.

We did an alternative guest book by ordering little 3'x3' postcards with 'I love you' in different languages for guests to give advice for marriage and then they put them in a suitcase that was decorated with photos of us.

Then I made 300 cake pops and decorated them and packaged them for favors.

I think that's it, but it was almost a year ago so I can't really remember. LOL
