Re: engagement party DIY's
i did centerpieces, favors, invitations, and cupcakes for dessert (the cupcakes were a HIT...and that is an understatement!!). Also i have heard of some girls doing a DIY candy buffet as a part of the favors

Re: engagement party DIY's
im making my own CP's. I bought vases and filled them with colored stones, going to put a betta fish in them and then a yellow rose to float on the top. i also tied some ribbon around it and attached a lil note about taking the display home as well as an organza bag with fish food and directions for care
i put together my favors as well (STD's and personalized candy in bags
we also made trivia cards about FH and i (labeled 'How Well Do You KNow the Future Mr. & Mrs.) to put on each table...multiple choice with answers on back and put them in business card holders
we're also going to make a large photo collage (havent done that yet)
i have a few pics in my album

my friend and I actually did the cupcakes the night before (I wanted to make sure they were super fresh and moist) Centerpieces are cheap to do, so even if your restuarant doesnt do them it shouldnt be a hassle for you ETA we had about 60-70 people at the party and I made about 75-80 cupcakes and all but 5 of them were eaten that night!!) For 100 people I would probably make 110-120 to be on the safe side

we've got a max of 60 in the room, but i figure we'll make close to 80-90 bc its no kids so people can bring back for their kids. i'll probably bake them all thursday night, store them to keep them fresh and decorate friday.

you could do a floating candle bowl on each table and put white candles in it (seashell shaped maybe?), maybe even some 'ice' in the bottom of each bowl/vase/whatever and decorate around it with nautical themed things like sea shells or starfish...
