So I have been told by a few people white is for the wedding day, wear different colors for shower, engagement party, engagement shoot ects. I am curious to know what is your take on the wearing white besides the wedding day? TIA
I didn't want to wear white for my engagement pictures or engagement party, I plan on wearing it for my shower but if I find another dress I like more, I won't. I know a lot of people do feel like they should wear white to all parts of the wedding - I don't particularly feel that way. As long as my dress is some shade of white, I'm good.
We didn't have an engagement party, but had we I don't think I would have worn white to it. I did wear white to my shower though.

I didn't wear white for my engagement party because it was in January. We also went causal for our e-pics so I didn't wear white for those either. I do plan to wear a white dress for rehearsal dinner. I am unsure if I want a white dress for my shower because if it is March or April I may be too pale for it but if its the beginning of May I probably will.
This is interesting, I've never heard of this. I'm wearing a white lace dress for my engagement party, haven't thought about what I'm going to wear to my shower yet though. I think I will most likely wear white to wedding related events since this is the only time I'll be the bride!
My engagement party was fall themed so I had a fall theme dress! There are pics in my album ! :) have fun wit it u only get to go through this once!
I think you can wear whatever you want. In my opinion there are not many opportunities in life to wear a white dress so if you want to, go for it! It's not like you are wearing a bridal gown to each event. It's just a color. If you prefer another color instead that's totally ok too! Everyone has an opinion now but in 10 years, it won't matter what color you wore to anyone else but you looking back at your photos.
