Engagement Party Favors?

We are having an engagement party at a nice resteraunt for about 80 guests. It's going to be a sit down dinner. Should I have favors for the guests?

We did...

we bought chocolate hershey bars from Costco and made labels for them on the computer. Real simple and cheap enough.
Everyone thought they were the greatest..
Plus we're BIG chocolate fans so we ate the ones that no one took.. LOL

good luck!

I wouldn't. It seems a bit much to me. It almost makes it like a mini-wedding.
JMO, of course.

I think a small favor is just a nice way of thanking the guests. I would say to do something like candy....it's inexpensive and nice.

We just had a small engagement party last week. We were all about doing the chocolate bars (they are quick and look so cute) but they all changed their wrappers and they don't look quite as good anymore...

Since I always have some kind of breath mints on me, we decided to make labels to go around a Tic Tac box... We put our picture on the front and wrote 'Mint' to be Together (cheesy but funny!) and just put our names and the date of our party on the back. They came out cute! :)

Good luck

I would if we had a party - We just had a dinner with the two families so they could meet.

My mom gave favors at ours.

Candles that look like wedding cakes with a little ribbon with our names and e-party date.

Candles are about 3-4 inches high.

i personally don't think it is necessary. i agree that it kind of takes away from giving them at your actual wedding reception.

I did. Nothing too extreme. Just a little token to say thanks. We bought those plastic champagne glasses, but some shredded colored tissue paper in them, then filled them with hershey kisses, wrapped them in tulle and attached ribbons that said Michael & Jaime's Engagement party and the date. Everyone loved them.

we had the same type of party- we made white chocolate heart lollipops and we had little flower pot votive holders with votives from white candle barn company wrapped in tulle in everyones place seating.

Very cute. We were thinking of doing the 'Love Savers' as our e-party favors. I love what you guys did.

We had our engagment party in my backyard. We gave out B-BQ lighters. We hung a tag on them telling them to save-the-date. Everyone loved them!
