Engagement Party Favors

Engagement Party Favors

Hi anyone have any ideas on whether I need to give out favors at our engagament party (I assume I do) and if so, an inexpensive favor that I can give? I was thinking of going to Michael's to pick up some candles and glass holders, and giving them out. I am having about 50 guests, so it can be something I put together myself. All you creative types, please help! Thanks

No, you don't have to do favors at the engagement party. Especially if it's being thrown for you. Favors can get out of hand. Between the showers and wedding itself it's plenty. But of course it's up to you if you would like to do it.

What about Chocolate roses? or rock candy on a stick? something small should be good.. i gave out the chocolate roses at my engagement party.. (at my mothers request) but you do not have to give them out if you dont want to...

Hi we're probably (actually my Fh's parents, since they are throwing us the party) giving these silver picture frames.

My FMIL went to Century 21 and saw them there for $1.99, all you would have to do is wrap them. You should call Century 21 because this was a few weeks ago, so I'm not sure if they still have them
You can also get them from www.preciouscollection.com (click on bridal accessories and they're on page 7 of 17) for 2.95 and for that price are engraved with whatever you want and you would have to wrap them too.

And we're probably going to give these favors for the wedding to have a matching theme (the first one on the left in the first row)

Well hope this helps! Good Luck

I would like to give something small, but the party is being thrown by my parents so I think I am on my own for the favors. I was looking at the favor lady website, she has bookmarks which are simple, and may be nice for a favor. What do you think?

I don't think you need to go overboard with favors at an engaement party. For my sisters, and my party we had decorative bags and filled them with chocolates and cookies and chocolate covered pretzels and pink chocolate marshmellows. Everyone loved them.

I found these that I think will be perfect. They are cheap ($.30 each) and I can decorate them myself to save money, throw some candy in and be done. What do you think?

Ordered my cute little chinese boxes yesterday, plus little tags to put on them that I will print up myself. All I have to buy now is the ribbon and the candy. Engagement party favors for under $50! I am actually spending less than $1 a person. I will let you know what they look like when completed. Thanks all for your help and suggestions!

My FH and I actually got gorgeous potpourri holders from a 99 cent store in the Sunrise Mall in Massapequa. I couldn't be happier with them. We got tulle and potpourri from a favor place and are assembling them ourselves. We also 'won' 100 personalized ribbons from Ebay for about $20 including shipping/handling etc.

I was surprised that the 99 cent store had such a nice selection. Kudos to the fiance on this one.

Congrats on winning the ribbons on eBay! I know how it is when you win a bid on eBay I am addict
My question is where would I be able to find the personalized ribbons that you won on eBay? What category would they fall in?
Thanks!

I know! I LOVE E-bay!

Try a search under personalized ribbons. I just tried searching under it and about 5 results were appropriate. I did a second search and checked 'in titles and descriptions' and got a lot more results, but not all of them were appropriate.

The auctioner was actually a business in Farmingdale, 'Party Innovations online'. You may want to search for an online store on Ebay. I got my order a few days after I 'won'. The ribbons are beautiful. He lets you pick the color, font, and includes an emblem.

If I can be of more help, let me know.
