My parents are throwing us an engagement party this weekend. Just found out my mom isnt planning to give out favors. Is this acceptable? I am reading way too many books...and most say a favor should be given. What can I get on my own that wont take very long...I only have a few days!?

Re: engagement party favors
I did give favors. I think a favor should be given but thats just my opinion. If your looking for something fast and inexpensive, how about just a favor box with some hershey kisses???

Re: engagement party favors
you could even find a candy bar wrapper template online, do one of those wrapped candy bars... Or you could just to go the liquor store and buy small bottels of champagne and use some card stock to print a picture/label out to tie onto the bottle.

Re: engagement party favors
my cousin bought candles & stuck a label on it that said, there names & the date of the engagement party. along with the hershey kiss idea you can put hershey kisses on a plastic spoon, put it into a little netting bag, & stick a label on it that says 'kisses from the soon to be Mr & Mrs.'

Re: engagement party favors
I don't think a favor should be expected by guests. I don't go to someone's birthday party expecting to walk away with something.
Candy is a good idea...simple and cheap!!!!

Re: engagement party favors
We're doing a candy buffet at our engagement party. I dont really think its completely necessary, but its a nice touch...plus, fh is obsessed with candy, so I'm moreso doing it for him

Re: engagement party favors
i think you should give a favor... even if its small..how many people will u have at the party?
do 1 per couple, instead of a favor for every guest.

Re: engagement party favors
Go to party city or Michael's and grab a couple of those favor kits (they have Martha Steward ones!) and throw some hershey kisses or M&Ms in them.

Re: engagement party favors
There's a site called wrapwithus.com, that's where we've been looking for favors. The nice thing about them is that they're located in syosset, so you can just pick them up instead of having to pay for/wait for shipping. Not sure how much notice they would need (if you need them this weekend), but it's worth a shot. Their number is on their website if you're interested.

Re: engagement party favors
i would get something small... i am thinking of doing personalized chocolate bars w/ our names on the front and in the back would be a 'save the date' with our wedding date on it.
