Engagement Party Favors-HELP running out of time

Ok. I think I asked this before but I still have nothing and my party is in 2 weeks. We decided on the chinese take-out boxes but we don't know what to put in them. If I put candy in, what kind because it is summer and may melt. We would do a mix of candy but which? Also, any other ideas of what to put in the boxes would be appreciated. I also bought silver baskets to put on the tables to match my centerpieces, but what could I put in the baskets? Help

Re: Engagement Party Favors-HELP running out of time

They make 'wedding 'fortune cookies, I like the idea about the silver baskets-is your party outside? How about little votives or tealights in the baskets or boxes? Or little decorative soaps? How many do you need & what do you want to spend?
here's a link to fortune cookies-

you can also get M&Ms in your wedding colors...melt in your mouth...not in your box??

My placecards had chocolate that did not hold up well during that 7/4 heatwave...so they melted and then formed again...when you opened them they looked horrible...I went around and told people that they were still good...but they had just melted...no problems...

Maybe you could put the little conversation hearts (although usually associated with Valentine's Day). They won't melt - and they have cute little love things on them...good luck with it!

Can the box only have candy? Why not put a little tealite or votive, if you're going to have candles in the centerpieces?

Re: Engagement Party Favors-HELP running out of time

For our e-party, I used the chinese takeout boxes for the favors as well. I filled them w. candy- I bought a lot of it ar Target, they have HUGE bags of hard candy there. I also ended up throwing in some chocolate, mini candy bars etc, since I did not get around to making them until two days before the wedding. To avoid melting, we kept the air conditioner on 24/7 the days before the party, and the choclate was fine (and it was almost 90 that day). To make the box and candy look a little nicer, I lined the inside with silver tulle, then put the candy in there. Wrapped the box in light blue tulle, tied w. a ribbon and put a rose sticker (all of above from Michael's) in the center. Got the labels from myownlabels.com. I got so many compliments on them-was worried that people might think the candy looked cheap- but the outside looked so pretty no one even bothered to open them, and everyone loved the idea. Favors ended up costing less than $1 each.
