So FH and I want to have an engagement party at FMIL's house in April for about 40 people. We want to keep the cost low at about 500 bucks for the whole thing. Anybody have any recommendations on where to get food from? It's going to be casual. We live in Queens and FMIL lives in Nassau.

Not sure if your FMIL lives close to Massapequa but there's a place on Merrick Road called La Bottega...it's a tiny panini place. The food is AWESOME! That's where we got the food for my 30th bday last summer and everyone (from my critical Italian family) raved about it!

La Botega is very good and they are all over nassau! Not just in Massapequa. also in RVC, West Hempstead, Merrick, Floral Park, Long Beach, Carle Place, Huntington, Oceanside, Roosevelt Field Mall, Roslyn, Plainview, Port Washington, Syosset, Bayside, and Manhasset!!!
