Hi everyone! For those of you who have had engagement parties, did you do anything fun or interesting to set it apart from another party? Did you have a sit down dinner, a DJ? Did you ask people to be in your bridal party during the party? We are going to be saying a little something to thank our parents, and I bought gifts that we are going to present to them. I'm just curious as to what other brides have done during their parties!

We just had a luncheon. No DJ. Everyone mingled and talked. It was nice getting both sides together. Our bridal party already knew they were in it but they all got to meet & we took lots of pics hah

We announced the day we picked to the whole family and friends. The bridal party knew already but we had a chance to take pics together and introduce everyone on both sides. We also did a fab dessert buffet, which would have just been cost prohibitive to do at the wedding, but easier at the E-party since it was much smaller (cheaper!)lol. I have pics in my E-party Album of the buffet.

I had DJ and buffet. My bridal party knew but I did the meet the maids/meet the men which everyone loved. I ordered personalized banners on etsy as well. I had so much fun! And I did thank my parents on the mic :)

Ours was a cocktail party at Perabell in Patchogue. People were raving about the food for days!

Thanks guys! We are having a DJ too. I definitely am not one to make a show but I want to thank our parents on the mic for their support. I got them crystal clocks that I had engraved saying 'The love of family is timeless, thanks mom & dad.' I think they deserve it!

I just looked at your albums. Great ideas -- I am glad to see other brides wearing white for their party, because my dress is white too :)

We had a Saturday brunch, and no DJ. Pretty much our entire bridal party knew at that point, we had both asked them in special ways before our party. We had a cake, and before we cut the cake, my dad said a few words, thanking everyone for coming (I have terrible stage fright), and then FH's best friend asked to say a few words too (his father couldn't be there). I made cake pops for the favors, and made my own centerpieces.
My dress was also white. I figure there are only so many times in my life I'm going to get the opportunity to wear a white dress.
