Engagement Party Ideas ... Anyone, anyone???

So my future hubby and I are finally getting around to planning our engagement party. We were engaged in January and want to have a bbq at my parents house. We dont want to do anything HUGE so we are thinking family and bridal party. Is that odd?

Also, I need any and all ideas! I dont want it to be 'too themey' if that makes sense. I love the color pink so I am thinking of getting lots of pink table cloths and papergoods to match. Perhaps these ...

Then maybe doing some small vases with hot pink gerbera daisies (my favorite color and flower and more than likely the wedding color). And also thinking of bbq sauce party favors.

I dont think that is odd at all! I am doing the same thing, my mom is throwing us an engagement party in the backyard with family only. I don't want anything big b/c our wedding is in a year. I think we are going to have the maid of honor and the best man come and that be it. We will see! But I love the idea of keeping it small and having it in the backyard! We didn't want anything formal or fancy or for it to be a big deal, just laid back and fun!

i think that's a great idea. that's how i pictured my e-party...until FMIL got a hold of the guest list and started inviting a bunch of friends

backyard BBQs are the best! and by the way, i think the 1st set of papergoods (she said yes!) are ADORABLE. i would definitely do those.

sounds like you've got it all together already! my e-party is next month and i still haven't even picked out colors haha

My FH and I are having a Picnic!!!
We are having sort of like a Blue/Silver? little White 'Stars' theme!!!
We are decorating Stars in the trees =)
And we are having Stars as CP...

I think The Sky (and Beyond) is the Limit!!! Lol....

We will only have 50 guest (but we think only 40 ppl will show up since we have guest from PA & NJ)

Also, I know U like pink But I woudl recommend talking to ur FH to see what He likes...
Maybe he does NOT likes 'Pink All over'...
I think u should def talk together to see what Color/Theme to have...

We did fake (bc we didn't have time to run around that day) and we still have them. Gerbera daisys in wine bottles! That help with cost too
