I want to have an e-party this summer, preferably in western suffolk or nassau country, and if it were relatively close to the LIRR that would also be great! Cost is a factor too. Any suggestions?
FH's parents want to have an e-party in their backyard which I really appreciate, but maybe it would be better to do it myself....
Response to some Qs - I am fine with an outside, casual buffet sort of thing. I think I would expect about 50-60 people to show up, and FH's parents wanted to keep the cost under 1,000. I would like to keep it pretty cheap too, since they might give me the 1,000 and then I could add a tiny amount to it.

Yea. . I don;t know what kind of party you want . . . but I am having my e-party at the Manor East in massapequa. Its not near the train but its centrally located.

Check out the K of C in Oceanside, easily accesible to the train and definitely cost effective!

Well There is Verdi's Ariana Waterfalls Villa Umberto's
Also if you want not so formal. More simple Sutton Place in Long beach has that outside (but tented) room in the back.
More casual is Minnesota's or Semi casual Seventh Street Cafe in Garden City has a cute room fits about 50. downstairs. HTH

My FH and I are actually going to hold our eng. party at the White Whale . It's a cute restaurant on the marina in Wantagh. It has a half indoors half outdoors setting - which is what I wanted.
There isn't a website for this place, but the party prices are very reasonable, the food is great and I highly recommend it.
Good luck!
