Since FH and I got engaged the end of November and going to be waiting probably 2 and half years to get married we wanted to have an engagement party. I was trying to figure out if there a time frame I should have it. I was thinking maybe end of June or July????To late to soon??? FH the one who wanted to wait for everything and now he driving me insane about this! Any advice would be helpfully!

I got engaged on 9/2..At first we planned on having it this Jan, but are waithing till May 14th so we can have it in my mothers backyard. I figured it would good to do it around the year mark!

you can do it like Summer 2011 or Fall 2011.... i regret doing it too early because we got the 'So when is the wedding?' question for 1 year and 1/2... sooo annoying!

There's no real timeframe once you hit the above the 1 year mark. We got a lot of the weird looks when we said we were getting married in over 2 years.

I got engaged May 30th and my eparty was 8/14. But my engagement is only 15 months. The eparty was about a year out.

I agree with one of the posters above...you're not really on any timeline when you're above the one year mark! Do what works best for you guys!

We got engaged on November 20th & my parents mentioned the other day that they wanted to throw us an E-Party in April/May.

I say within a year....I knew ppl who did it in 2 mos., and ppl who did it in a year because they had another yr plus to go till the wedding so.... whatever fits your timing and budget i say!

I've read online that engagement parties are supposed to be within 5 months of getting engaged. To give you a sence of timing, we got engaged in March, e-party in July, and we were engag3ed for a little over a year and a half before we got married.

I read online some where 3 months and had a small heart attack. haha My cousin in college and will not be home till June 6th and I want to make sure she is there. I think we are going to aim for end of June or beg of July! Thanks girls!

Usually I would think you would have the party not long after you get engaged as you are celebrating your engagement! I don't feel that has anything to do with the wedding time line like a bridal shower or bachelor/bachelorette party.

I think that's fine...
we got engaged 5/4/10 & our party was 10/17/10. I wanted to wait until the summer of 2011 but his mom wanted to have the party sooner and she was paying for it
