Did you register for the engagement party? FMIL thinks we should register but I have no idea what to even register for. FH and I still both live with our parents and have not decided what we are going to do yet. At the same time I am afraid if we don’t register we will have a zillion frames.

Re: Engagement Party Registry
Yes, I think you should register. At first we weren't going to but we ended up registering and it was for the best. Most of our guests gave us cash for our eparty but some gave gifts from our registry. (If we didn't have the registry as an option who knows what we would have recieved!)
I assume you will eventually live together so register for things you both agree you need that are small enough to store until you move in together. For example toasting flutes, crock pot, blender, etc.
HTH!

Yes. I registered for my china but I had a good mix of price ranges on there so people could feel comfortable giving whatever. I didn't put registry cards in the invites but people called to ask if we were registered. Some people would rather give gifts.

Re: Engagement Party Registry
We didnt register and got mostly cash as gifts. We got a few odds and ends because we dont have our own place yet. We got a few frames some lenox pieces and a centerpiece. But the only people who actually gave us gifts were very close family members and close friends. It also depends on where you are having your eparty. We had ours in my parents backyard so I didnt really feel that it was appropriate to register either. If your doing a fancy party then go for it! Why not?

Re: Engagement Party Registry
If you still live at home you should register, I'm sure you need everything for when you move in together....every day plates, basic silverware, cutting boards, baking pans, etc. it'll help getting them at the party and the shower!

Re: Engagement Party Registry
We registered for our engagement party. We received alot of very nice gifts. Enough to even be comfortable when we do move in together. When you go to the stores they have suggested items but get what you think you will need if you were to move in together. The basics... and you can ALWAYS add more if you want.

Re: Engagement Party Registry
We didnt register, but we had a small dinner (43 people). Personally, IMO, The registries are more for the shower. My e-party was tonight and we just finished openeing envelopes and am so happy the we now have almost 3 months of payments to the RH! We also got 3 gifts, which were unexpected but totally cool! Either way, do what you want, its your day!!!

Re: Engagement Party Registry
I didn't register, but I got enough cash to put a substantial down payment on my RH.
We got a couple gifts - a wedding planning gift basket, and a monogrammed photo album.

Re: Engagement Party Registry
I would rather have the cash so we can start booking vendors. At the same time we are going to need everything when we move in together. We are having a little over a 100 people. There is just certain people I feel if we don't register is going to give us something we do not need. Still not what I want to do. Might just make a small one at BBB. This is one thing FH could care less about. Thanks girls!
