Engagement party tips?

We are having a backyard Luau party for our EP in less than a month! Probably around 60 people. Of course it will be decorated like hawaii but i wanted to know if you guys do anything normally at EP's. Any speeches, and do you put photos of yourselves out?
I kinda dont want it so formal...I also am not wearing anything fancy, just a floral sundress and FH is wearing just a hawaiian shirt and shorts. I dont have to wear white do i?
I'm a little nervwracked about the whole thing, its a mini wedding, isn't it!
Now that i'm home sick i have time to think!

Here is a link of pics of my E-party. It was in my parents backyard and it was decorated very nice. We had it catered and we had a server. My father made a speech and everyone had plastic champagne glasses to toast. Later we had a cake cutting moment. It was great!

I agree! I just had my party this weekend. It went by too fast! Before cake, my dad gave a speech, and then I thanked everyone for coming and encouraged the two families and BP to get to know each other before the big day. Don't sweat it, just enjoy!!
