Engagement Party Toasts

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what is typically said by the father of the bride to be and the bride and groom to be?

The father of the bride can say few words to the couple, wishing them luck, happiness, love and thanks everyone for coming..

My dad did not do a toast but my DH said a very nice toast thanking everyone for comming (most had to travel) and thanked our family and friends for their help and support. That's how we lead into giving out our gifts to our bridal party.

My Dad just said that he is very happy to welcome Scott to our family and that he and I are so happy. He also said a few nice things about dealing with me during the wedding plans

My Dad didn't toast but myself, FH and our best man did. My Fh and I thanked everyone for coming, we told everone that we loved them and to enjoy the dessert (we did it right after we cut the cake).
