I just feel the need to share...FH's father wont be attending our engagement party this weekend. My parents mailed him an invite despite everything he said to me...which is unforgiveable...and he didnt have the deceny to respond. I emailed him and asked him to put this all behind us for sake of FH...he didnt respond. FH called him this week and he said he wont be coming b/c of the things I said to him (fyi...i didnt say anything nasty...i just defended myself when he attacked me). I cant believe someone would skip their son's engagement party!

im sorry i missed hwta happend btwn u and ur ffil. pls fill me in.. but no matter what it was, him not attending is very selfish and wrong of him.

Well, I cant go into too much detail or I will be kicked off the site. LOL. Basically, for a few months he was sending me nasty emails about things that had nothing to do with me...like us spending easter with his sister that he doesnt like. I ignored all these emails. Then one night I got into a slight argument over the phone with FH -- very stupid fight -- but his father knew b/c he was at his father's house (oh, and the argument was really me showing concern over a stupid decision FH made). The next day I got this crazy email where FFIL told me to take prozac, tune up my broomstick and a whole bunch of other things. So this time I had enough and I asked him to never email me again b/c I was tired of his harassing emails. Well, he responded with the most disgusting things you could thing of...actually...I'm not even sure you could think of them...they were just ridiculous...and totally inappropriate. Anyway...that was a yr ago and we havent talked since...and FH didnt talk to him for 6 months. 6 months ago I emailed FFIl asking him to move on for the same of FH. I knew we were getting engaged soon...and I didnt want him to be stuck in the middle. FFIL never responded...but started to call FH nonstop...and they sort of resumed their relationship. And now he's boycotting the engagement party.
Are you sorry you asked...that was a long story. LOL

OMG, that would be great! I might just need to do that. I am crazking up right now. If I could only tell you the other things he said. You would die. Thanks for making me laugh about this situation!

Its ok, its better off in the end. We had a similar situation with FH's mother. She said some really awful things and FH decided not to invite her. If someone can't be happy for the two of you then they do not deserve to be there.
