We're looking for someplace creative to do our engagement party.
We were thinking about Oktoberfest in Wantagh park which would be so much fun. Beer and Brats maybe a little of my grandma's german secret recipes. The problem is it's getting kind of late in the year and weather could really ruin it for us.
So we're looking into doing a halloween costume party (I wanted a Hallween wedding) but we want someplace that isn't insanely expensive, and will let us bring food. I have a few VFW numbers, and the Elk's club in Huntington, the AOH .... anyone else have suggestions? TIA

Re: Engagement Party Venue Ideas
we did ours at a local firehouse. They had a banquet room & we brought our own food. You can decorate it for Halloween if you wanted. Prob the same type of room as the Elk's Lodge

We had ours at the Sayville VFW at the end of August. They were very easy to work with and the party was great!

You could look into Knights of Columbus. I think the one in Oceanside and maybe its Seaford have been recently renovated and I don't think they charge that much.

Thanks Everyone! I called all of the above and they were all great options. We actually had a friend recommend his church's hall, It's under $500 for the entire day and we can decorate however we want and bring in any food and drink we want. I'm super excited FI is going to check it out after his meeting tomorrow fingers crossed that it works out.
