Engagement Photo RANT

I know I shouldnt be complaining... but I am SO dissappointed, and honestly angry...

So at a recent Bridal Expo I entered a contest (among 50 others) where I could win a free Engagement photo session and Brag Book of pictures. Well-- whoopie I won! I was so excited. It was actually a company we were considering. Werent sure if we would book... We thought it was great to have an additional photo session though!

So this past weekend we spent two hours, walking over 2 miles through grounds in high heels, taking pictures for our free session. We even tipped the photographer, because that is the right thing to do.

WE HATE THE PICTURES. Now, Thats not their fault. I look so heavy in the pictures- it was a good eye opener for diet time.

However, I was APPAULED at the fact that they post the 300 pics they took of us online, and write COPYRIGHT all over the front of them. So although we got a free session, no way in hell they were letting us have the pictures. UNBELIEVABLE. And I felt that I was mislead... because I asked how we would get the prints, and I was told all we would have to do is look online.

So we picked our pictures for the mini brag book... and sorted through all the pics we hated. There are a couple we like.... at least for memories. BUT... they charge 15 BUCKS a 4x6 print!!! WTH!!!! Am I over-reacting? I sent an email with my dissappointment.... I would like to order at least 4 of the pics... but 60 bucks for 4 4x6 prints?!!? I'm not satisfied... AT ALL. And I definetely have a different perspective on this photo company now.

Just venting.

aww that stinks Sometimes you do just have to vent. That's terrible you can't just print out some pics on your own though!
I'm sure you looked great as well... sometimes it's just about picking out a really flattering outfit, and God knows I'll need help with that one

I am so sorry you do not like the pics. That is a HUGE disappointment. I am hoping for your sake that they will do the right thing. I also think you prolly looked beautiful in the pics and you are just being hard on yourself!

I just felt mislead :( It made a fun and exciting WIN into a bummer....

Everyone keeps telling me I am being too hard on myself.

That sucks! But maybe its a good thing because you didn't book them!!! Always got to look at the bright side of things.

Thats so annoying!! I would be upset too. At least you don't have to deal with that for your wedding!!!

wow no you really have a right to be annoyed cus i would be pist. I spent all this time and energy taking pics and they come out bad and they charge you something that should have been free cus you won...very annoying

I would be upset too! In a way it is a good thing you had this experience with them especially since it is a photographer that you were considering.

That totally stinks that they did this to you! Thats terrible that they didnt disclose that you wouldnt recieve the prints. However, did you think about mabye trying to enlarge/crop some of the pictures that you liked that you are putting in the 'Brag Book'? That might be a way that you can at least have some of the pictures you liked....
