Is everyone here getting engagement photos? I never really thought about doing it, but now i see everyone seems to talk about it alot....

I didn't even think about it until I started visiting photographers. We saw Patken and they do a free photo shoot and give you an 11x14 of your favorite shot. I thought that was great. We ended up going with Sherwood Triart instead, and while bargaining with them I asked for a free photo shoot. They are giving us an 8X10 of our favorite shot. Now I'm liking the idea of having some professional non-wedding pics of us.

We did, but we had a friend shoot them for us. there is no point going nuts.

I said yes, but its not engagment photos in the full sence of the word. We are just shooting a couple of pics with the photographer.

we had a casual shoot with Patken, i like the idea of nice professional pics besides the wedding day, we are using an 8x10 from them to put on our wish bowl table, also they paired us up with the photographer for our wedding day, so it was nice to work with him prior to the wedding, they do this so that if there is an issue between you and the photographer they still have time to pair you up with someone else, i think it's worth it

yes, but they were included. We would have had a friend do them if they were not.

we thought about it and then time started running out!
i'm gonna grab one of my girls to do it, w/ a digital, and then print them up nicely.

We have a free shoot with our photographer from The Velvet Studio. We are taking them on the beach

We are having ours done in 2 weeks. I wanted professional pics taken so we can give our parents really nice frames with the pics in them at our RD.

Yes. Ours are included with our photo package. If they weren't included, I probablywouldn't get them.

we would be charged another 400-600 depending on where we take the pics. right now those pics are no so important to us as we just bought a home and have ton of other expenses.
maybe as we get closer to the wedding we will change our minds, otherwise, probably not going to take them

Yes, If you book 2 photographers with 12th night they do it for free

With our package from the photographer we get a free engagement photo. We booked him about 3 months ago and we haven't made an appointment yet. I want to go somewhere where there's beautiful scenery.

I also went to Central Park and South Street Seaport yesterday w/ Scott from DUET. I am sooo looking forward to seeing the final pictures!!
