How long after you get engaged are you supposed to have your engagement photos taken? Any recommendations on where to have them done? Also, how much do they typically cost?
I don't think there is really a specific right time. U can do it whenever you want. Lots of photographers include the engagement shoot in their wedding photography packages. I am booked with Fade to Black and my engagement shoot is included in our package. I got engaged in June. I don't plan to do my engagement shoot until Fall of 2012 and I will use those pix for my Save the Dates that I will send out in early 2013. I am not sure on locations but I plan to pick somewhere that has lots of trees and greenery. I want to capture the leaves changing in the fall and have the gorgeous colors in the background of our pix. So depending on what kind of look you want, beach, city, winter wonderland, fall, etc.. that can help you narrow your choices of where to go.
My engagement photo session is free with my wedding photography package. I was engaged in November and will probably do the photos in January - my wedding is in June.
