engagement pics

did anyone NOT get them taken? we got engaged dec of 05 right before xmas and used a prof pic we had from my sisters wedding for our engagement announcements...

i see all of your prof engagement pics and wonder if ill regret not having them done

...is it too late (or pointless now that our announcements went out a long time ago and save-the-dates are already out) or is it something just for us to have?

You can have them done whenever you want. I'm getting married at the end of Sept & will probably take my engagement pics in May or June. Yes, that's 4 months before the wedding but so what.

i didnt take mine yet, I am going to plan to take them in the spring sometime right before the wedding

i really like that idea, i think thats what ill try to do

honestly the only reason we took ours was bc it was included in our package. we did STDs without a pic. so we really only have it for a keepsake.. we will probably frame it and put it out at the RH on one of the mantles.

sooo i personally dont think you'll regret not doing it.. JMO!

i agree... its nice to have them but i mean i wouldnt be dvistated if I didn't. We are going to do them cuz they are part of our package but if they wernt i dunno if i would pay the extra $$ to have them done.

I didn't take mine yet! I am going to take mine in the spring/summer at the beach!

Here too! getting married in September but plan on taking the engagement pics in June so we can get them done on the beach!

I'm getting married in September and my photog said we'll do engagement pics in July. They're included in most packages because it's a way for you and the photog to get used to one another and for you to learn how to pose. My photog is putting ours in an album to be displayed at the wedding and will blow one up and frame it for the wedding. I'll also use them in the guest book and around the house (I'm a picture freak! LOL).

I'm gonna look at diff packages for our photog again and see if anything like that is included. even if not, ill talk to her about possibly doing it in the spring depending on price.

We're getting married in October and will do our engagement shoot in late spring/early Summer (around May?).

I already designed and sent out our STD's with a picture of us from when we got engaged in Niagara Falls.

We'll use our engagement pics for our home, to display at the reception, for our programs, and possibly for our table numbers. You can use them more than you think, but they are not 'necessary'.

I personally REALLY wanted them because it gives us a chance to meet with our photographer before the big day, get more comfortable with the idea of posing for prof. pics, to see how our pro pics would come out, and also to have a nice visual memory of our engagement to show at the reception and have at home.
