my photo package did not include an engagement shoot. i thought i didn't want one. but now i'm seeing all these awesome pics from girls who have had theirs and i really want one!!
i called up my photographer yesterday and he told me the shoot would be $500 and there is a guarantee of at least 100 shots.
he also told me he would go anywhere...even to the city if we wanted to.
do you think it's worth it?

If mine were not included, I wouldn't have gotten them. I would NEVER use them. Put the $$ toward the wedding favors or attendants gifts.

Honestly...if mine wasnt included...I wouldnt get them done...I dont even want to...I have to call an make an app with them...and have no desire

I agree, theyre cool if you can spare the extra cash, but we're not getting them, so we can put more money towards other things....
Have a friend with a good cam take some 'couple' pics outdoors or something, and spend more on your wedding day package...

Honestly the only time an engagement pics is used is for the std's if you want your picture on it. OR i have seen people put their engagement shot on their sign in table at the wedding.
I really don't think its worth an extra $500 but this is me... if you want a nice photograph ask a friend who can use a camera and snap some shots of you guys at a park or beach and take a hour. Typically one shot is perfect!

wow, great points about not really using them...i think you girls are right...it's probably not worth it.
and thanks for the advice...i don't know why i didn't think of it, but i have a friend who is an art major and she is totally into photography. i'm sure she'd be willing to come and take some cool shots by the beach or something.

mine were not included.. but i got them at a really good price so i decided to go with them.
i thought it would be fun/ and me and FH have tons of pics together.. but usually they are pictures that I take myself. I thought it would be nice to have some full body shots... not just our two heads together.
I want to use them for STD's, Invites and I was thinking of putting a few on the guestbook table.

I think that if mine weren't included we would pay extra to get them. I use pictures for everything, so we plan on using them in our STD's and also in our christmas cards for this year. How many professional photo shoots are you and FH going to have? I haven't seen any e-shoot pictures that I haven't liked and I can't wait for mine!

glamorshots would do anything or even sears, target. you just down and do a regular portrait infront of a screen back. honestly it might really look amazing and its less expensive.

I honestly don't think I would pay extra if it wasn't included, that was one mandatory detail I was making sure my photographer offered. But I also feel with the amount of money all of us are paying for photo/video an on location e-pic shoot should be included!

If ours was not included we wouldnt take them. We have our pictures from the moment we got engaged and we also have so many pics from our engagement dinner. We took a pic from the dinner and used it for our thank you's.

thats what i am doing- well my sister is going to take pics of us on the beach...
I feel more comfortable in front of her to do alot of the poses we want to do and she wont care where and when and how we do a shot...also its FREE!! haha

yeah mine are included too, not sure what I would do if they weren't.
If its something you really want and its within your budget then go for it...but if you're not sure whether you really want them or not and dont really want to spend the money on them then dont even worry about it

we had a friend do our epics and they came out wonderful! i would recommend that. i think getting them dont at sears or jcpenny is also a good idea, a lot less expensive!
