Engagement Pictures

So FH and I did not take any... do we have to take them?

What are they really for?

Many people use the E-pics for save the date.

Hi Erica

We had them taken by a friend of a friend who was trying to make a portfolio....so they were free and we used them for our Save the Dates.

Then our photographer had them included in our package so we are going to use those to display at the wedding.

I think they are nice to have but if you don't...they aren't really necessary.

We didn't. We have lots of pics, from various events, so we had a lot we liked. In the end, we didn't use them for the STD's anyhow. You don't have to have e-pics, but sometimes you can use them for placecards, STD's, a sign-board (rather than a guest book), etc., and of course, the newspaper announcement.

Oh ok- I thought that I was committing a wedding 'no-no' by not doing them.

To be honest- i hate pictures!!!! I am going to have to have a drink to loosen up on the wedding day.

I picked STD's that do not have our picture on them.....

I dunno maybe if l would have lost some weight I would have been more inclined to do them...none the less.

we weren't going to do the e-pics because FH hates pictures BUT we are using TP and he said the reason for the pics is so that we all get comfortable with each other before the wedding so it's not like we're meeting on the day of and have to get use to each other. He will get to know how much FH will tolerate :) and it will make for better pics if we are friendly with each other ahead of time. We thought that was a good enough reaosn to take them.

Also, we are doing it two months before wedding date so it is too late for STDs anyway.

I did them for the STD's and also because my mother has been driving me insane for a picture for the newspaper engagement announcement, lol!

I don't think they are absolutely necessary at all, especially since you already picked STD's without pics on them!

our photographer does them for no charge ( or party of the package i got) so we are just gonna take them for the heck of it...we might end up using them somehow..maybe as table numbers ...

If you'd rather spend the money on something else...I would, but ours were included in the package so we're going to do them, and then prob use them for the save-the-dates.

i didnt use them.i did std's and i used the picture that is my pic on here actually. i dont think its necessary to have them but its def nice!

It's totally your call. I didn't have them done because I didn't see a point. However, most people have them done to get to know the photographer, use the pics for STD's and even table numbers.

We got free ones from JCPenny thanks to a friend...so we used them for the STDs... but we are going to Captree to take more..prolly for the table numbers...still up in the air. FH hates pics but too bad for him! When it comes to pics of us he deals...b/c he loves when I hang them up ! HA
I regret not having more pics when we just starting dating...we both look sooo different..so it would hav ebeen nice to have more pics. :)

We're getting pictures taken by a friend within the next month, and will probably use those for STDs and maybe a newspaper announcement. Once we choose a photographer, if e-pics are included in the package, we may barter to get them removed to see how much money we can save. If it's significant, we'll scrap them, if it's only 100 off, we'll probably keep them and have extra pics.

You don't have to take them. It's up to you. I used mine for my save the dates and I might put one on the place card table or something...

we want to take them because they come with our pacakge. we arent using them for the STDs but we dont have any pro pics of us so we want to give one to his mom and frame one for our apt

I felt the same way you did. I wasn't going to do them either bcuz i didnt feel I was going to use them for anything and just couldnt find the time to schedule them.

I will say though that I am SO glad that I did do them. We had so much fun and I LOVE looking at our pics everyday! i think i sent them to the whole world!

I too wanted to wait until I lost a little bit more weight but was nervous that the summer would go before that happened. I put on a nice dress, got my hair and makeup done and WALA! I felt so PRETTY!

It might be a great experience for you to loosen up that way, wen the wedding comes around, u'll be a pro!

You don't have to...my photog threw them into our package....they are just for you and FH or some people use them to display at RH.... I like the idea because they are pics of you and FH wearing regular clothes and you look like you always do...so it just a keepsake.
