If someone you know gets engaged, do you send them a present right away or do you wait for a party? A lot of people I know have been getting engaged and I just want to get a sense of how people handle engagement gift giving. Thanks!

With us, we only got a few presents. Most people are waiting til the engagement party in Feb. They asked our family and they were told we were having a party, so not many gifts, just cards as of right now.

i wait to see if they are having a party.. I have two friends that just got engaged...One is not having a party, so i will give her a gift next time i see her, and my other friend is having a party, so i'll give her a gift then.

I didn't have a party and got gifts right away. Nobody knew if we were or weren't.
