I dont have it either... I want to get it over the break! So many things that need to be done! I've heard good things about Chubb.

This may be a stupid question but what do you need to do...I know it needs to appraised but then how much does it cost to have it insured...to pay one lump sum or is it like car insurance.....I feel like this is a stupid question!

I just asked FH...we use State Farm for our home owners insurance so we had them make a rider (an add on ?) to that...we paid one lump some for the year.

State Farm here too!!!! We got a separate add on policy to the CAR insurance policies (we don't own a home yet) It depends on how much the appraisal is... (how much you pay) I think it was something like... if the ring is worth up to $5K then it's $80 a year..... up to $10 K is $115-120 a year....
and then up to $15 K was about $150 a year. (i can't really remember thw quotes for sure because FH was talking to me about it over the phone on his way out of the placE)

You can pay it as a one lump sum for the year.. and you get a bill only once a year

I dont have it either, FH and I have been procrastinating.... but I know you can do it with your car insurance company usually.

We added it to our renters insurance (through Travelers, which we got through Geico). We pay monthly, but it totals about $100 per year. We just insured it for the purchase value, and once we get it appraised we'll insure it for that. They told us if the value goes over $10k you need a separate policy.

i have mine insured with my rental insurance through geico..when i called they asked what my ring was appraised for and then just added the bill with my rental insurance
