Engagement Ring Placement on Wedding Day

Engagement Ring Placement on Wedding Day

I know that you are suppose to put your engagement ring on your right hand on the day you get married, but do you put it back on your left hand after your wedding band is place on your left hand? And do you do this before the reception? I have seen picutres of just the band and with both.....

I can't give you proper timing etiquette, because I'm not sure, but I'm planning on putting my e-ring back on the left after the ceremony.

I totally do not remember!!! I'll see if I can tell from pictures!!


Okay, in pictures following the ceremony, e-ring is still on right hand. First dance, both are on left hand. I'm thinking I put them both on the left in the limo on the way to CH.

From what I have been told after the ceremony you put your engagement ring back on the left hand. My problem is for the ceremony my e-ring does not fit on my right hand so I don't know what to do about that

Mine e-ring does not fit on my right hand either. I am going to leave it on my left hand and I will just switch them after the ceremony.

I switched my e-ring as soon as I got to the back of the church. My sister (MOH) was wearing the ring I had for my right hand during the ceremony.

i dont think my e ring fits on my right hand, i guess my fingers are bigger on that side

I had my e-ring on my right hand and when we exchanged rings I kept my diamond wedding band on my left hand and I put my plain wedding band with my e-ring on my right hand. I never thought about switching my rings back after the ceremony -- too many things going on

I am so glad I saw this post... I thought I had to have my MOH hold onto my e-ring...
now I get to wear it on my right hand...
