engagement ring re white golding?

I have no clue what its called, but I know that after a while white gold wears away and you need to have it redone.

This has started to happen on hte underside of my engagement ring. I hadn't really noticed too much until now my wedding band is next to it and i can see the slight difference in color.

my ring was bought through blue nile so i do not have a jewlery store to go back to. Where can i get this done? do they do it on the spot in front of you? I do not want to have to leave my ring anywhere.

you can go to your local jeweler to have it re dipped!

you just need to get it redipped. i got mine done right before the wedding and it looked brand spanking new! i cried when I saw it (i'm a loser i know)

any local jeweler should be able to do this for you.

you can get it re-dip by any jeweler.
just becareful they don't change the diamond on you!
re-dipping usually costs approx $35

yup- no big deal! i had mine redone this summer, guy did it right there. and it wasn't the jeweler we had bought it from. it cost me $10, and my ring looked TOTALLY new again afterwards
what happens is that white gold is really yellow gold plated with a metal called rhodium- the rodium wears away after awhile, so it needs to be redipped to restore the silver color.
ETA: they don't need to take the diamonds out or anything to do it, becaues the metal doesn't stick to the diamonds.
