Can I go to any jeweler to have studs (bumps) put into my engagement ring? and anyone know how much this costs to get done on a platinum ring?

Re: Engagement ring studs
The jeweler who made my ring but the 'balls' on the bottom for me for free... I'm not sure how much it would cost if the jeweler did not make the ring.
Can you go back to where your FH purchased the ring and ask?

Re: Engagement ring studs
the place i got the ring from did it for free since they offered one free sizing
ETA: i would check with the person you got it from first but you can have any jeweler do it... make sure it is a reputable place- people on here got me so nervous with stories of diamonds being exchanged out of the rings...

I got mine done for about $35 at Good Old Gold on Sunrise Highway. My ring is platinum as well, but the 'balls' were made of 18k gold. I could have gotten them in platinum, but they said its not necessary. HTH!

go to the place where FH bought the ring and see if you can get it done for free, if not, it shouldn't be way too much money. i know you can do it on platinum because i have aplatinum ring and they told me that i could if i ever need to

Thanks everyone! FH got the ring in the city so maybe I'll just make a day trip out of it. :) Thanks!

They are little grooves or bumps that the jeweler puts on the bottom inside of the ring to make the ring fit better and also gives traction so the ring doesn't constanty spin around due to gravity. I don't want to resize my ring bc it fits fine in the summer. :)

Re: Engagement ring studs
The ring snuggie are good temp fix until you get it done. Claires or icing cell them for a few $

This is what I did and it was free.... I went to another jeweler beforehand and they quoted me over $100 because of the platinum
