can everyone tell me what kind of engagement rings they got and if they love them or would have preffered something else, i have a story but want to see what you people say first, lol

My ring looks exactly like the icon by my screen name. I do love it - sometimes I wish I would have asked David for side stones but ultimately I would never change it. I plan to get a wedding band with all diamonds so I guess it will make up. LOL

I love mine but I also choose mine. Long story but I found out he was looking at rings (we are both computer geeks) and slipped my preference out there.....The engagement was an amazing surprise but needless to say I love mine! Mine is a single solitare diamand with micro pave diamonds on the band. You?

I absolutely LOVE my ring. I wasn't expecting a proposal ... never went ring shopping so FH had no idea what I would want with the exception on the cut of the stone... I love my MOH's princess cut so he knew that.
He pieced together bits from different rings that he liked and had my ring made for me - I have a princess cut center stone in a low setting with a pave band that has a little round stone on either side of the band slighty larger than the ones in the pave setting (I don't think I am describing this correctly).
I've been meaning to take a pic and post on another thread here... I really have to do that.
And did I mention that I LOVE MY ENGAGEMENT RING!!!

ok heres my story, i first picked out my own ring, a european cut brilliant shaped diamond, basically an antique estate ring from the 1950's i believe 3.25 carat,he asked me to marry him on the beach in long beach island nj at night with champagne, blanket, radio, candles and plants, lol, yes plants, i loved it except that he had to ask me to marry him in less than 3 seconds because the mosquitos were killing us, so i kinda felt cheated out of an engagement but the ring was beautiful, i was so in love i was obsessed with it but........... then i looked at it in the light and it looked a bit too yellow for my taste, not bad, still a georgous ring but it bothered me so much i even lost sleep over it one night, anway i told him eventually and he was so great about it, he wanted me to be happy, so we went and this time i picked out what i really wanted which was a princess cut clear diamond not as big 3.06 but oh my is it beautiful, when he presented me with second ring (after we were already married) he took me to renault winery and ask me if i would stay with him forver (on bended knee) minus the mosquitos this time, i love my ring, and thats my story. lol

My ring is a 3 stone princess cut. 1 carat in the middle, with a smaller size stone on each side. I love my ring. But I know that in the future he plans on upgrading it. He's was just out of school when we got engaged and had bills up his butt. It's understandable.
ETA: picture of engagement ring. It looks like this one.
I designed my setting and he picked out the stone, its gorgeous, I get compliments on it where ever I go
Sorry about the red, its the clearest stone I've ever seen (colorless grade) so the camera threw it off...

We spoke about getting engaged for awhile. I was printing rings out that I liked and leaving them everywhere for him to see, LOL....he went and picked out a ring and actually designed it ALL BY HIMSELF!!!! Its a 3.08 caret center round stone with one round almost 1 ct on each side on a platinium band....I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well my first ring as i mentioned was 3.25 but color was more important than size, although we girls do love size, lol, but i guess its the area i live in and im at home all the time people dont really notice and if they do they dont comment, and my ring is beautiful, sometimes i wonder if they think its not real, lol. but its a solitaire princess cut (square) and its absolutely breath taking.. so i wonder, HHMMmmm..... any thoughts?

Some girls won't comment because they are jealous of the size of the ring, honestly thats how some girls are. I always get comments on my ring, I don't flash it around or anything like that because I don't want people to think I'M LOOKING for attention.
Also some girls have huge rings but the color is off. Some girls would rather have a big cut with color flaws. I would rather have a smaller cut with no or few flaws. I lucked out I got a nice sized ring with no flaws...

well i thought the same, and same here, this ring i have now is 3.06 vs1, and so clear, i rather have a smaller diamond than a severly flawed huge or yellowish one. i do get compliments but once in a blue moon, i also feel guilty flashing it around, sometimes i even bhide it depending on who i am speaking to, i would never want to make anyone feel bad or think im a snob. thanks for the response.
