I hope I am explaining this right....but does anyone have an engagement ring where the prongs go all the way down to the base of the ring?? So in other words if you try on a wedding band with your e-ring, theres a space between the 2 b/c the prong is in the way?
If so, are you getting a wedding band that 'curves' to fit around the prong? Or are you just getting a regular wedding band and having a small space btwn the two. Any feedback would be great! TIA!
I am getting a wedding band custom made to fit with my e-ring. It will have a 'v' cut out in it so that it goes around the center stone properly.

Re: Engagement Ring/Wedding Band ?
I know what you're saying.. and I have a ring like that, but the space is SO tiny and I don't think I want to wear my e-ring every day for the rest of my life, so I think I'm just going to get a regular wedding band and deal with the space on the rare occasions I wear my e-ring on my left hanf after we're married. I think most of the time if I wear my e-ring it'll be on my right hand anyway.
I don't want the wedding band to be custom made to the e-ring and then have it look silly without the e-ring, I want it to look good in it's own right.

I think it would depend on how much space you're talking about and what you like best, esthetically. Also, whether you ever plan on wearing the rings separately (some women only wear their wedding bands, some wear their erings on the right hand and bands on the left).
My ering tapers a little on the sides so there is a small space between its base and my wedding band. I like it, though, since I think it helps to highlight the rings themselves. I did not custom-fit my band to it, but the space is tiny.

Re: Engagement Ring/Wedding Band ?
my ring was intentionally made so the band fits underneath it. But I've seen so many custom made bands. In my opinion it actually makes the set look even more unique. I almost wish mine had to be custom made lol.
But I am spoiled and FH is buying me 2 bands for my ring :)

I have a tiny space between my e-ring and wedding band and it doesn't really bother me.

My friend had this issue as well. She bought an eternity diamond band for her wedding band and there was a space between that and her engagement ring. So she bought a thin white gold band to sit between the two and fill the gap and it looked great. Just another idea!

I have one with the prongs and I think i'm going to get a curved wedding band, I want it to look like a set, i'm not crazy about bands that dont match the e-ring

Love that idea!
I don't think there is any wedding band that will work with my e-ring because it is a split shank. So, I'm planning to wear my e-ring on my right hand after the wedding.

we have the same ring! (well almost! i have trillions as sidestones). i'm glad i read this thread. i was also thinking of getting a 'v' cut on the band as well!
are you getting a plain band to go with it? i'm torn bec FI thinks i should just go with a plain versus w/ stones because it might look busy.

Re: Engagement Ring/Wedding Band ?
I've been working with Elsa to possibly have the band contoured to my e-ring. However, now i was having 2nd thoughts lol They are really great though and its cool to go through the whole process of creating your own ring.

I had the same problem and chose to go with the small space. There are times I would want to wear just the band so it would look weird with it cut.
Small space is just that. You barely notice it after a while.

Re: Engagement Ring/Wedding Band ?
can anyone recommend a band (or show me pics) of a band that they were with a traditionally set engagement ring (round stone, 4 prong, two baguettes on side)? Mine are double baguettes. I keep trying things on but nothing is really standing out for me. I want to be able to wear the ring on its own or together, but I dont want just baguettes. I would like something with round stones.

Re: Engagement Ring/Wedding Band ?
My ring came in two settings one where the band sits flush as the prongs are made specially to sit flush and then bump out for the stone (this is the one my FH chose) or the more traditional way where they stick out. In this case they had a wedding band that bumped out to go around the prongs. This kind looked much better with two bands, one of each side so the style was balanced out.
