Engagement Shoot

FH and I have our e-shoot next week. I'm so excited to shoot with our wedding day photographer and to get the ball rolling on this stuff. Once we get the shots, I'll order and end STDs and I'm sure these next 10 months are going to go by so fast! Both of us have been wondering what we should should wear for the shoot. I was thinking about a dress, maybe a short flirty white one or something colorful, blue or pink. Photographer recommended not wearing a dress because it limits the positions we can shoot in. Arg???!!! Also, I've been trying to think of any kind of props to bring. I've seen a couple of banners on etsy, and I was also thinking I could make one I but can't decide. We know we wnat to use some of our shots to make our table numbers but don't think we actually want to hold the numbers for the shoot, I would photoshop them in later. Any suggestions? Any must take shots??

If you want to wear a dress I say wear one! I don't think they'll make you sit spread eagle or anything lol. Maybe bring a wardrobe change with you? I wore both a skirt and jeans on my shoot. As for colors. I really liked the way my photos looked with my bright yellow cardigan and my other look was a bright red top (pix in album). Wear whatever will make you feel the most comfortable and what best represents you!

I wore a dress for my e-shoot last week and it was just fine. I say wear what you want, or bring another outfit for a 'costume change.'

I did them twice and one time I wore a dress and we did lots of different shots-some sitting, standing, jumping, etc. The photog. just shot from the side or above me so you couldn't see up it. We did them a second time and I wore skinny jeans and a pink printed top. I think bright colors look best and we didn't try to match each other, more tried to make it look cohesive without matching, you know? Pics in my album.

Yeah I think a dress would have been fine too. I couldn't decide which to wear either but ended up wearing nice jeans anyway.
Whenever we saw on the ground or bench or anything, I could have done it in a dress!
I think the most important thing is just feel comfortable so you look comfortable in your pics also.

I think you should wear what you are comfortable in. Have any of you had your makeup done for your engagement pics? Do you recommend it?

I say if you want to wear a skirt maybe wear some bike shorts under it so if you need to move in a certain way you wont have to worry about flashing anyone and then you can fix your dress once you get in that position.
