I scheduled my engagement shoot for October. I am stuck as to whether I should take them at South Street Seaport or Dumbo. I have never been to Dumbo but the pictures are very nice!
I originally wanted Central Park but I want a different type of pictures than what can be had during the wedding day.
Any and ALL opinions are welcome and if you have any pictures from either location - may I please see them?
THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!

I would definitely say South Street Seaport!!! I love it there and think the photos on site would be amazing!

out of the two I would definitely say South Street Seaport.
I am having mine taken in October as well I am going to Long Island City Piers. There are tons of places to take pictures there and it also have the NYC skyline in the background.

Thanks ladies!
I have been to the LIC piers soo many times that I want a new vibe. It is verry pretty there.
Also, the day of the wedding I am getting ready at a hotel in LIC and I am hoping I can get a picture with the skyline at that time.
Now all I have to do is hope for good weather in October!

Re: Engagement Shoot - HELP PLEASE
I don't have too much to add but I want to do mine end of Sept/early Oct and I know we're shooting in the Meat Packing District. I'm really not familiar with the area but we know we want city pics and my photog says she does his engagement shoots there all the time. His pics are amazing and I trust his opinion.

I'm going to have to be different and say go DUMBO! I live in Bklyn and love that area. It is a beautiful place to take photos. The Brooklyn Bridge park is so nice, you're right in btwn the Bklyn & Mhtn Bridges with the city in the background. Plus the landmark Tobacco Warehouse is there which is pretty unique.

DUMBO is awesome. if you're around that area you can even go up on the brooklyn bridge and get some great shots (as long as it's not too crowded or windy!). also, FYI if you want to go INTO the tobacco warehouse or the park in front of it, you need a photo permit. You don't need one for the other park or the bridge though.

Thank you for the opinions! I think the best thing is going to be to talk to the photog and see what he recommends.
THANKS FOR THE HEADS UP about the permits!!!

Re: Engagement Shoot - HELP PLEASE
maybe you can do both. Sea Port is right over the bridge. If I had to choose I would do it in DUMBO
