Engagement Shoot Tipping

I know this question has been asked and answered many times before but I can't seem to find the thread...

My engagement shoot is Monday...do I need to tip the photographer? If so, how much? The photographer is the owner of the company and is already charging us extra to have the shoot in Long Island City instead of somewhere closer to his office.

I tipped 40 but the owner didn't do our epics.
