So our photographer said we can schedule an engagement shoot this spring- I want to wait till it gets a little warmer and the trees are blooming but I still have no idea where to go?? Also- how did you pick what you were going to wear for the shoot?? TIA

did you ask your photographer for suggestions? they often know best
you may want to consider a botanical garden or something like planting fields if you want blooming flowers

we did ours in brooklyn (dumbo). i asked my photographer if he had any recommendations on what i should wear. on top of that, i knew the area we were going to and so i picked a bright color top that would complement the area.

we did ours at morgans park in glen cove. There are so many different cool places to get different shot. We did it in the winter so there were no flowers, but spring will give you even more options.
We wore black, but you can wear what you want. They told us to wear black or a beige or white so our faces stood out, but ive seen ppl wear all colors and their pics look great.

I know Jteach did her's at Belmont Lake and they are beautiful and IF I do them it will be at either FI Lighthouse or Central Park, just for the versatility.

thanks Ladies. My photographer just asked that it be on long island. I think he mentioned CW Post. I was just wondering where else might be a good idea. I grew up on the water so I think I might want a boating background- just not sure where to get that!

we took ours in long beach right down the block from our apartment. The sunset was amazing.

i wanna do them at the plantings fields (?) in oyster bay... but FH wants Shea! lol
other suggestions are: central park, south street seaport and battery park/winter garden are some of my favorites!!!

I am still trying to decide where we are going to do our epics. I love these ideas. Sunken Meadow would be nice or maybe Avalon. If the weather is nice enough I am going to wear a springy dress.

I'm doing mine at Gantry State Park in LIC because I'm a Queens/City girl.
Everything is happening in Long Island and I feel like the city needs to figure into this somehow since it's part of who I am.
FH would love for it to be in Long Island though.

are you looking to stay in LI? if not how about gantry park in LIC, its where i took mine, pics in my album. Or how about brooklyn promenade
