Re: Engagement stories and rings!
In April, we went to Vegas because his uncle planned on getting married there to his longtime girlfriend. We had reservations for dinner at a restaurant at the Venetian hotel one night and about an hour before, he asked me to go on a gondola ride (i knew it was coming at this point! and i kinda saw the outline of the ring box in his pocket LOL).. except the boats weren't running outside because of a wind advisory. This put a wrench into his plan LOL so we ran into the inside gondolas and took a ride and he nervously JUMPED out of his seat on the boat and got down on his knee in front of me and nervously asked me LOL he was so funny. Well needless to say we made it in time for the dinner reservation!
ETA: My ring is a 3 stone w/ Princess cuts (one large and two smaller on each side). Don't have an actual pic of it on me but something like it is posted in my album

Re: Engagement stories and rings!
It was this past July when i went over to Colorado to spend the Summer with him. He took me to our favorite fishing spot, and began to lead me into the forest where he had surprised me with a cute little picnic blanket all set up. There was wine glasses and food. It was beautiful. He told me that he loves me & wants to spend the rest of his life with me. Then he got onto his knee and pulled out the ring. It was the BEST feeling ever!!! After I said Yes and we hugged and kissed and all that fun stuff, we sat down to eat our lunch and make a toast to our engagement. Then we ventured into the creek and spent the afternoon holding hands and talking and being cute. Later we called the family and all that. He did a good job! Cause i always wanted it to be done in private. For me, it's just more sweet & personal that way. I never wanted it in a public setting where people would be watching, waiting for my answer. lol. That would make me feel awkward.

Re: Engagement stories and rings!
I came home from work on a random week night to find the house spotless, dinner made, my FH dressed nicely, and 6 dozen roses!!...He didnt ask right away tho. We went for a walk to the beach and when we came back I was sitting on the couch and he came over and got on his knee and asked. I loved it cause I wanted something private and he totally shocked me! I actually said 'you are a jerk' cause I thought he was kidding.. but when I saw the ring and realized it was for real I started jumping on the furniture like a lunatic.

Re: Engagement stories and rings!
It was Feb 16, one day before our 5 yr anniversary. He told me he was picking me up at 9am. He came to my house, and blindfolded me. He has done that many times, so i didn't think anything of it. He starts to drive all crazy like...making u-turns, lefts, and rights. And i know my neighborhood really well, so i kept up for a while in my head (i even knew we passed by my house) lol...So we reached our destination and he walks next to me...just talking. And i hear a clicking noise and footsteps. I am like what is that? is someone there? When we get to a stopping point, he takes the blindfold off, and we are at a park, 5 blocks from my house where we met, and he set up the swing set with roses and rose petals everywhere. And the clicking and footsteps was my friend, who is a photographer, taking pics of the whole thing. He sits me on the swing and gets down on 1 knee!

Meeting:
We were at a fraternity party, I was drunk, he was DD, 9 years later here we are! I always say once we have kids we have to come up with a better story.
Engagement:
We were fishing and he got down on one knee and said 'I bought you a new fishing lure' I was not to excited b/c I am not much of a fisherman but it looked like an apple (I am a teacher). Then I realized he looked pale and on his knee he opened the apple and a ring was inside and he asked me to marry him. I was so so surprised I had no idea b/c we have been together for so long I just thought we would date forever!
Ring:
He drew a pic and went to a jeweler. I have a certificate that verifies its an original. I have the only one out there. I also have his drawings and doodles forever.

Meeting: On a boat cruise around NYC.
Engagement: (short version) On a sailboat in Sag Harbor....He LIED and told me we were going on a friends boat for a party, but in reality he rented a sailboat and a captain for a whole night for just us. At sunset he brought me to the front of the boat laid down a blanket, got on one knee and popped the question! he later pulled out champagne and strawberries to celebrate. (he put A LOT of planning into this) It was really an amazing weekend :0

Re: Engagement stories and rings!
Mtg: I was a freshman in college in a bar with a fake id, waiting in line for the bathroom. FH (who worked at the gym so I recognized him) came over to me and mentioned that he 'hated obnoxious freshmen' and asked what year I was. I lied and told him I was a Junior. Ha! Fast forward 1 week later, it was my college dance team's fall formal, and FH was there!! (He used to date one of the dance girl's roomates so they invited him a long). Long story short, I fessed up to my lie, but he still wanted to take me out to dinner, which we did the next night, and we were inseparable ever since!
Proposal: It was FH's birthday weekend (on Sunday), so we visited his parents that weekend. He had asked me the week before if I wanted to go out to dinner that Sat. night, at this gorgeous restaurant on the Hudson River that FH used to work at back in the day but he had never taken me there, despite me begging several times. I should have been suspicious bc his whole family seemed soo concerned with our 'date', asking what I was wearing, etc. We had dinner (we started outside but it was freezing so I asked to move inside, little did I know he was planning to ask at the table outside and I threw him for a loop) and afterward he asked me if I wanted to take a walk down the boardwalk along the river. On the way back he stopped in front of a neighboring restaurant (which had a hundred people outside on the back deck), and got down and did his speal. Everyone started yelling 'say yes!!' which of course I did and then everyone started clapping and cheering! It was like out of a movie and so surreal. I was in shock the rest of the night! THen his family came down to the place we had dinner (which is also a ritzy nightclub/bar) and we celebrated with bottles of champagne all night! It was amazing.
My ring, emerald cut with 5 small rounds on each side... it doesn't reflect the flash well in photos, it's much more sparkly in real life! He designed it himself, it's one of a kind!

Re: Engagement stories and rings!
FH proposed on St. Patrick's Day.
For our first Christmas together, he made me a scrapbook with pics of our first date, first vacation together, etc. We've added pages on to it since then. In early March he borrowed the book to show someone at work who was getting married and wanted to make one too. (He was lying. :))
On St. Patty's Day he came over with a full dinner (corned beef, potatoes, etc) and had me look through the scrapbook again... the ring was tied to the last page, a page he had made all by himself!

I LOVE your band! that's exactly what I had wanted. Due to FH's funds my side stones are a little smaller but I love the extra little touch of detail while still having the big traditional center stone!

Re: Engagement stories and rings!
FH lied to me and told me we were going to NYC for a work party. I believed him because I knew the party he was talking about what actually a real event they hold at his job. So we got all dressed up and right before we left, a limo shows up at the house. Now I know something is up and i'm about to start freaking out. The limo driver comes to the door and hands fh a package from his boss (that he later told me he staged lol) saying thank you for a job well done and here's a limo ride to show his appreciation. So now i'm thinking, is he gonna propose or is this letter a real thing? I was so confused and so quiet driving into Manhattan.
So when we got there, I found out we were staying at the London Hotel right near Central Park. It was beautiful and it's also where Chef Ramsy (from Hell's Kitchen) has his restaurant. We go up to the room which was beautiful and had a nice view of central park and there's a package sitting on the foot on the bed (kinda set up like a welcome package). I open it and it's my claddah ring that he had cleaned and reshaped for me and I was about to hit him for playing a trick on me. But next thing I know, he gets down on his knee and pulls out the e-ring from his pocket. Anyway, that night we rode around in the limo for a few hours, drinking champagne. It was so awesome and then went out to dinner and a matinee show on Broadway the next day. It was perfect.
Allright well Fh is very shy so, his plan was to take me down to port jeff n then pretend like he tripped over the docks then pop the question while on one knee.. However when we got there it was a blah night kinda humid n hot n the docks where PACKED!!! So he got nervous n didnt do it then we went to a nice diner n he finally got the guts up to ask when the desert came out he held the ring n its hand and gave a whole speech that i dont remember nemore and i cried ! he he so it didnt happen as he plannded but it was still sweet n romantic.
