Engagement/ Wedding ring question

does anyone have a e-ring similar to mine? my ring is set kinda high so we went to look for wedding bands yesterday and i was told i needed my ring to be custom made which is totally freaking me out.

maybe because the outer circle is too far from the actual band?? my ring is the tiffany setting, and I'm getting the eternity band through my sister 'cause she has a jewlery business

My setting is both high, and the base is a square that juts out from the band of the ring. I had a custom band made to nestle around it, so they'd sit flush together. I went to Marlowe Jewelers on Liberty Avenue in Queens (my family has gone to them for decades) because Tiffany told me they had nothing to go with my e-ring, and that I should just wear it on my right hand.

(sry for the bad cell phone pic, it's hard to explain w/out it)

I'm not wearing my rings on the same hand... you always have that option and then you can get whatever wedding band you want.

E-ring is going on the right hand.

Yours look perfect together. What made you decide to do that? Do they not fit next to each other?

No, they do. And I'll probably wear them like, that day together, but I'm not planing on wearing my e-ring all the time, I'm very hard on it and I've been wearing it for 2 years.

Ahh, ok, that's true, that makes sense. At least they are a perfect match, in case years down the line FH gets you a right-hand diamond ring, you'll want to have your right ring finger free

Re: Engagement/ Wedding ring question

I had the opposite problem, my diamond is set literally flush with the band really low so that all the matching bands I tried on rub against the bottom of my stone. The jewler said if I did that then I would eventually rub off parts of the stone So I decided to just wear a band most of the time, and if I do need to wear my e-ring to wear it on the other hand, since I really didn't want to have to get something custom made.

I had something custom made. My engagement ring has a scalloped band and i wanted it to sit flush. The stone is also very high....

Re: Engagement/ Wedding ring question

from your picture it looks like you have a round stone with small diamonds surrounding it and then going down the side..right?

I have that without them going down the side and I just picked out this...

Its an eternity antique setting

There is a small gap between my e-ring and the band but i actually like how it looks bc im not personally a fan of bands that contour to the e-ring

We have the same ring! I don't plan on wearing mine past October 15th, but if I did- I would need a 'wave' band, or something customized

My Ering is set high as well. The designer who made my ring designs wedding bands so they fit under and flush with the ering. (this was part of the reason why I chose this desiger) Maybe who ever makes your ring also does bands to fit?

because there a 'basket' my ring sits in, the ring cant sit under the circle of diamonds.

was it a lot to get a ring custom made?
