Engagment party gift

FH & I have never been to an engagement party. Got an invite for a friend (so happy for them)

How much do you typically give as a gift. It is going to be at a RH in LI in January (if that helps).

we got a HUGE range ! We got gifts from our registry, and money.. anywhere from 50 from one person, 50 from a couple, to 200 from one person and 200 from a couple!

Thanks ladies I knew I would get quick responses. We were thinking between 125-175 so I guess we will be okay.

I also thought it was funny because they made the invite out to Mr. & Mrs. F (weird seeing it this way)

the last engagement party we went to, i bought our friends a silver kate spade frame off their registry (that was about $50) and gave them a check for 50 too.

i would give $100-200 if i knew i was going to a RH. Probably $100 if it was just a restaurant and $200 if it was a nice RH.

depends on how close you are with them too though. totally up to you.

i had my engagement party at a nice restaurant in a private room and most people gave us at least $50pp

I would probably bring $100? Min. $50 pp I think. More than that seems like I am giving 2 wedding gifts! Or a gift and a smaller check?

Our gifts ranged from person/couple to person/couple. We were given gifts from our registry and then amounts of money ranging from $50 to $200.

I took a chance and checked BB&B and if it is correct they are getting married 2 days before our 1 year anniversary

Wow that is crazy...I don't think I could give that little unless I added a gift but that is me I know everyone has their own ideas

Unfortunately Hispanic people (the ones that are NOT costume to USA culture do this...)
So that is the reason as of Why I am NOT even expentng NOTHING at the wedding....
