Engagment Shoot Clothes

Engagment Shoot Clothes

So FH and I are having our engagement shoot on Thursday at Tanner Park in Amityville Harbor. It's a private beach area with a boardwalk and a park and also soccer fields. My questions is this: Anyone who has taken e-pics, what did you wear?

I was thinking of wearing a dress but it seems like most people wear jeans and a nice shirt. Do you think a dress is appropriate for e-pics?

Thanks in advance!!

I haven't taken my e-pics yet, but I have them scheduled for June and I have the same dilemma. I think a sundress would be super cute, but I also like the idea of wearing jeans. I think I'm gonna ask my photographer if I can hop in the car and change halfway through the shoot. This way I can pick between shots with a casual sundress and the shots with jeans.

I wore a dress for mine (pics in album), but I kind of wish I had worn jeans. I was freezing by the end of the day, plus I feel like because I didn't wear heels with it, my legs looked really short in the full body pictures.

I wore a white dress for mine and I did them at the beach.

We're doing our e-shoot wed. and I haven't even showed for anything yet I think you need to go with what feels more comfortable for you. You could always change in the bathrooms there

THIS! was my dilemma this weekend. I bought a dress earlier in the week but then with Friday's freezing weather I ran to the outlets and bought a tank and cute blazer to wear with jeans and I was satisfied. Well then today was warm and nice and when I put the tank on I wasn't comfy so I ended up wearing a white vneck tshirt under the cute black blazer with jeans and heels. I was comfy and felt appropriate. It really is whatever you are comfy with!

My engagement photo shoot is June 14th and I am planning on wearing a sundress and I want to hop in the car and change into jeans for the other half.

I'm doing mine in a couple of weeks and I'm wearing a skirt on the beach. My photographer told me to bring a change of clothes, so maybe bring a pair of jeans to change into (wardrobe change!)

I took some in a dress and some in jeans and tank tops. FH was upset that he only brought the 1 pair of pants with him.

What kind of look are you going for? More beachy- or more parky/sporty?

When we did our engagement shoot, I wore a dress and my then-fiance wore jeans and a sportcoat... but I think anything goes! My only suggestion to you would be to think of what colors to wear. After seeing other people's photos where they wore brighter/bolder colors, I started to wish that I had done that for mine. Definitely makes for some beautiful photography. Enjoy the photo shoot! :)

I am wearing a dress for my e-shoot. My photographer recommended that we wear bright colors. She said it films better. Since you are taking pics on the beach and it could be windy, make sure your dress isn't too light. You dont want it to blow up in the wind and expose you. I don't mean to sound gross, but this happened to me on Easter. LOL Good thing no one was around to see it.

Thank you so much for all the advice ladies! I don't know what I would do without you girls!! It looks like its gonna be 58 degrees and cloudy on Thursday (boooo!!) so I think I'm gonna wear jeans and a nice shirt and bring my dress and maybe change halfway through. Thanks again you guys had great ideas!!
