I bought silver compacts for part of my BM's gifts, and I want to get them engraved. Where should I go to get this done, Things Remembered? I wasn't sure if any place would engrave items that I didn't purchase at their store.

Things Remembered will engrave for you even if you didn't purchase anything from them. I believe they a charge a little extra though.

Did you check the mall? I know that in a couple of the malls in New Jersey, there are little stands that will engrave anything. Not sure how their prices are compared to things remembered though.

Things remembered wants $10 to engrave something that is not theirs plus the cost of the engraving. I got my cake knife on ebay so I need to get it engraved and they wanted $30 or $35 to do it. That's more than I paid for the Cake Knife! So I am on a hunt to find a cheaper place....so if anyone knows of a place. Think I will try Tri-County
