How much does this cost and where did you go? I live in Smithtown, so if you know of any places by me that are reasonably priced and did a good job, let me know.

I had it done in the city- in 74 Bowery, right next to my jeweler, and hand engraving (not machine) was $20 per ring.
I had 7 letters and 11/23/07 engraved in his, and he had 9 letters and 11/23/07 engraved in mine.
Try Commack Jewelry Exchange- I believe there is a hand engraver in there. Hand engraving is deeper and lasts longer than machine.

I think it's very much dependent upon how you have it done (hand vs machine), where it's done, and how much you're writing.
we wrote our initials and the wedding date in both our rings and paid $200.... But it is being done by hand.... (have to confess there's also likely a 'tiffany fee' factored in there too )

I had FH's done and it cost $10. I had 5 words and the date put on.

yep.... at tiffany's. I think they have machine vs hand done options.... each ring has 12 characters... I forget the breakdown, but the first 3 letters cost something like $30 to do, with the additional letters something like $8 each... so each ring was a little over $100
