entering the wedding....

entering the wedding....

the dj will of course announce us as we enter the party and our plan was to do the bridal party and the parents

My mom thinks the grandparents should get introduced also (they are walking down the aisle at the ceremony). I think it just gets way too long (as a guest) so I dont want that but at the same time i dont want to insult my grandparents.

My next question is do i have to have my step mother introduced? we are not close and technically they never told me they got married. i dont refer to her as my step mother but i would obvi have to introduce her that way.

In my head, i would like to introduce our 13 person bridal party, the flower girl, FH parents and my mom & dad (being introduced as parents of the bride) and then us.

what are you thoughts on step mom and grand parent introductions???
I am meeting with the DJ saturday so i have to give him the details

I;'m not having my grandparents walk down the aisle...but if I were I could see your dilemma. If they are the only ones walking down the aisle who aren't being announced I would say just add them in. I mean it won't be THAT much longer.I know if I asked my grandma to walk down the aisle you would think she's being announced lol. I don't think people expect grandparents to be announced though.

I would not include my stepmom if you are not close and they are not contributing financially. I would just introduce your parents.

Ihave a big bridal party too (10 couples, 1 jr couple, 3 flower girls) and I have two sets of parents walking, one grandmothe and a set of godparents(spanish tradition) walking down the aisle . I don't think I'll have my godparents and FH's grandmother walk in at the reception... I think you should explain to your mom about having too big of a party and it would be too much. Think she'd understand?

We didn't have the grandparents introduced at the reception but they did walk down the aisle at the ceremony.

As far as the stepmother, that's really your call. If you want your parents walking in together and you're not really close with her at all, than I would leave her out of the intros and just have your parents.

i think the 'proper' thing to do is introduce your mother separately

and then introduce your father and his wife

but i would have the DJ say,

'mother of the Bride Mrs. ABC'

and then say 'father of the bride and his wife, Mr and Mrs XYZ'

i wouldnt refer to her as the brides 'step mom' esp since you two are not close

however, i think it is really your call and maybe take into consideration how your parents feel

Yeah I agreee.....My FH's parents are divorced and we are introducing his father alone or with FH's sister, then his mother and step father together.
